(364481609)

21-02-2012 18.20
The 90 spectators at
Sauerland Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Cajetan Albanis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nicola Sarcinelli and
Tomás Enrique Grosso.
Sauerlandstars tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Hennig - Bałut, Pésin, Gomes Domingues - Samer, D'Auphrino, Diedrich, Escalera, Mota - Kovalovský, Mardefeld.
Teterow started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Saß - Marnold, Kesten, Hertenstein, Lensing - Quadrath, Authried, Stiten, Toretto - Wannenwetsch, Fezai.
Sauerlandstars clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
Pressing was the tactic of the day for Teterow.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
E. Fezai found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
9 minutes into the game,
F. Lensing almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
T. D'Auphrino gave Sauerlandstars the lead with a beautiful free kick after 26 minutes. 1 - 0!
37 minutes in, Sauerlandstars appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
passable.
The home side's
J. Kovalovský came close to extending the lead 39 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
T. Saß managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
D. Quadrath from Teterow a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 40 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Teterow's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends.
43 minutes in, Sauerlandstars's
M. Samer received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
After 43 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Sauerlandstars found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
passable.
1 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Sauerlandstars had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
During the break, Sauerlandstars's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.
Sauerlandstars players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
J. Kovalovský could have increased the lead after 55 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
After 66 minutes, Sauerlandstars sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
D. Mardefeld, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 0.
Sauerlandstars's
J. Kovalovský got himself booked for a foul.
T. Authried acted foolishly after 77 minutes, giving the ball up to Sauerlandstars's
M. Samer who had no trouble finding the back of the net. 3 - 0.
Sauerlandstars had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
Sauerlandstars enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.
Sauerlandstars's top performer was clearly
J. Diedrich.
A. Hennig turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Teterow player was
D. Quadrath.
On the other hand,
W. Stiten's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 0.
