Content with how the game was proceeding, the RSCA coach let D. Boere replace J. Cannoot after 46 minutes. The home crowd cheered when, after 57 minutes, L. Danckaert's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs F. Puel found it hard to get back into position. With 77 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed E.
