Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 50023 at Southorn Stadium today. Leonard Offner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marcel Regli and Ryszard Czerski. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Central and Western derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Southorn started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Carapío - Ollinmäki, Ghys, Brito - Mazzoldi, Mundi, Abts, Askgaard, Winterscheid - Liiceanu, Burroughs.

FFC tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Lineup: Tryniszewski - Fuertes, Warnez, Duquenne - Simendić, Millet, Menegazzi, Tepavac - 漢博 (Hanbo), Riederer, Eraslan.

Southorn were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. After 15 minutes of play, R. Burroughs gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. FFC's R. Millet left the field after 22 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was M. Perdaens. H. Brito increased the lead for Southorn to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! With 30 minutes played, M. Perdaens had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Southorn enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

Southorn's H. Brito was shown a yellow card after 64 minutes for slicing down an opponent. O. Ghys of Southorn received a yellow card after 69 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Southorn increased the lead as T. Ollinmäki struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. After this, you could see that the players of Southorn were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After 75 minutes, FFC's R. Simendić fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Possession was split evenly between the teams.

R. Burroughs performed admirably for Southorn. C. Askgaard turned in a dismal performance, however. FFC's best player was İ. Eraslan. M. Perdaens on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 0.
