69048 spectators had found their way to
Zonquldûk, despite the heavy rain.
Raf Cantin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Svend Vraast and
Ricardo Arango.
The blacks had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
They fielded: Daniel - Ayerra, Paul, Caini - Dürrenmatt, Jin ho, Vitányi, Hansson - Letov, Hälikkä, Groppo.
Tayfun decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Perian - Onko, Sandberg, Belka, Neme - Duţescu, Oprescu, Stoian, Vătafu - Vasiliu, Dascălu.
The strategy for Tayfun was to use their ability to press.
A. Hälikkä did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
Tayfun pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
After 42 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant.
A. Ayerra easily put the ball away to give the lead to The blacks. 1 - 0
V. Caini of The blacks seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
A. Ayerra.
The crowd roared its approval when
Y. Daniel somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Tayfun's
M. Stoian 44 minutes into the game.
The blacks increased the lead as
S. Letov struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
By now, the players in The blacks felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to The blacks, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
A. Ayerra wanted to play on, but the The blacks coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by
J. Kotowski.
Coming from the right,
S. Letov almost managed to score another goal for The blacks, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
After 63 minutes The blacks tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
S. Letov's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
65 minutes into the game, The blacks were awarded a penalty that
V. Caini turned into 4 - 0 without a problem.
A bit later, Tayfun's
R. Belka easily reduced the lead to 4 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence.
69 minutes in,
E. Vasiliu made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but
Y. Daniel refused to let the ball slip by him.
The referee showed Tayfun's
M. Neme the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Y. Daniel was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so The blacks's
M. Darwish had to come off the bench.
T. Jin ho was the new captain of The blacks - handed the armband by the departing player.
The score became 5 - 1 at 76 minutes into the game, when The blacks were given a penalty which
V. Caini blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
This third goal completed a hattrick for
V. Caini.
The blacks enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
S. Letov performed admirably for The blacks.
However,
P. Hansson made a disastrous appearance.
Tayfun's top performer was clearly
I. Dascălu.
B. Onko was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
