It had rained all day, but 20695 hardy fans still made it out to LAV 2005 ARENA. Kjetil Grundskär was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fernando Torres and Harry Yakubu. LAV tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. Starters: Sorgente - Avgeris, Falch Andersen, Chiodarelli, Macas - Sherafati, Pálkovač, Pelak - Haman, Zvěřina, Fauerby.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Kopáči. The following players had been chosen: Majtán - Michalčák, Barchánek, Roušal, Žák - Klacek, Vosyka, Pikart, Vařečka - Spurný, Knebl.

LAV mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. LAV took the lead 10 minutes into the match after a magnificent free kick by V. Avgeris that made the score 1 - 0. A. Chiodarelli of LAV seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by V. Avgeris. LAV solidified their lead at the 26 minute mark, as T. Fauerby dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. LAV's D. Macas refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 31 minutes. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. T. Fauerby squirmed through their central defence after 35 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. Č. Žák of Kopáči was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. R. Michalčák was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. LAV's V. Avgeris struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 5 - 0 after 39 minutes. At this point, it was obvious that the players of LAV lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Things were deteriorating for the away team as LAV scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for F. Haman after 42 minutes. Halftime score was 6 - 0. LAV claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 86 percent.

After 48 minutes, R. Falch Andersen put LAV ahead 7 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. 66 minutes in, Kopáči's R. Michalčák received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With 80 minutes played, T. Fauerby could have brought this one home for LAV as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. LAV's P. Pálkovač was shown a yellow card after 84 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Thighs bulging, E. Klacek charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. After 86 minutes, LAV sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached D. Zvěřina, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 8 - 0. With 87 minutes played, O. Roušal of Kopáči fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in LAV's A. Pelak increasing the lead to 9 - 0. Kopáči's V. Vosyka was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 89 minutes. Cheers filled the stadium as A. Sherafati broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 10 - 0 to LAV. The referee showed Kopáči's J. Pikart the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. LAV had most of the ball, with 90 percent of possession.

The most dominating LAV player was without a doubt B. Sorgente. However, D. Zvěřina made a disastrous appearance. V. Spurný performed admirably for Kopáči. V. Majtán was a disappointment, however. The match ends 10 - 0.
