(365968909)

03-03-2012 11.40
8054 punters turned up at
Eden, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Jinno Castelijns was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Chuck McPartlin and
Rudolfs Franks.
The derby had been the talk of
Hlavní město Praha all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Masters tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Drążek - Štecher, Fiačan, Mikulášek - Arrigo, Návara, Furmánek, Valko, Titěra - Tammelin, Mboma.
Nekopnem had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
They fielded: Gruber - Forst, Šťastný, Šůstek, Vavřík - Fišer, Slavíček, Zachoval, Buchar - Šmidrkal, Česnek.
Masters saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Masters took the lead after 12 minutes as a result of
M. Štecher's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
It was obvious that Masters had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Masters's
P. Mboma increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 28 minutes.
I. Arrigo could have increased the lead after 31 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
Masters managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when
R. Titěra cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
The players of Masters now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Masters enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.
P. Mboma struck a 30 metre free kick home 55 minutes into the match. 4 - 0 for the home team.
H. Tammelin increased the lead for Masters to 5 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Cheers filled the stadium as
R. Návara broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 0 to Masters.
Masters's
M. Štecher was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 76 minutes.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Masters to 7 - 0 as
M. Štecher finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
79 minutes in, Nekopnem's
B. Buchar received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Masters, as
M. Štecher left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
S. Parči took his place on the field.
Possession in this half belonged to Masters, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.
The most dominating Masters player was without a doubt
H. Tammelin.
R. Drążek was a disappointment, however.
Nekopnem's best player was
M. Šůstek.
J. Vavřík on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 7 - 0.
