Forze 3 - 4 Cecentus

Due to an all-day shower, 28855 paying spectators got to see the game on a field-turned-swamp at Maracanà. Mike Kopernicka was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Günther Brockhoff and Tero Pekkanen. After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, Forze decided to go with a 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been selected: Bolinth - Chevallier, Sunesson, Labis - á Kirkjuteigi, Genty, Gunnarsson, bin Hussain, Mülhaupt - Schalke, Scharnhauser.

Our studio analysts were correct. Cecentus has taken the field in a 3-4-3 alignment. The following players took the field: Titini - Ghiberti, Gindre, Archistra - Hooijenga, Bubbi, Aresti, Ahuir - Pohlmann, te Braak, Oppenheim.

S. Sunesson seemed to be defying gravity as he elegantly headed in a goal for Forze after a corner kick that was nicely executed by N. Chevallier. That makes it 1 - 0. R. Scharnhauser had a difficult time moving the ball with his trademark elegance; the muddy surface was clearly affecting his technique. W. Genty did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy field. The crowd was silenced 27 minutes into the match as the visiting team's E. Aresti came in from the left, tying the game up at 1 - 1. The cannonball from 35 yards by J. bin Hussain of Forze was an impressive attempt, but didn't make it into the net. Halftime score was 1 - 1. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Forze, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.

The coach of Forze wanted to try to mix things up after 71 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions. Priding himself in being an active coach, the Forze manager gave new directions for his players after 72 minutes. After 73 minutes, the Forze had a quick word about their shape on the field and decided to try another approach. Cecentus's S. Pohlmann gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 79 minutes with a superb strike from the right. With 80 minutes played, the Forze coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. E. Hirvonen came on and T. Gunnarsson had to leave the fray. The crowd was on its feet at the 83 minute mark, as Forze's A. Labis found himself all alone in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 2 - 2 equalizer. Cecentus's coach was furious with C. Bubbi after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref. Oh dear - the keeper's made a mess of that one. The crowd was very disappointed after he let W. te Braak get the go-ahead goal with a speculative shot from the right after 86 minutes. 2 - 3. With a shot lofted in from just outside the penalty area 87 minutes in, A. Labis of Forze evened the score to 3 - 3. 87 minutes into the match, Cecentus nearly took the lead, as E. Aresti broke through on the right. However, J. Bolinth made the save. 3 - 4 was the score after 88 minutes, when Cecentus's W. te Braak cut through the central defense and pounded one in. Forze were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

The most outstanding Forze player was without a doubt N. Chevallier. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because M. Mülhaupt seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Most important Cecentus player was S. Pohlmann. Good thing M. Archistra isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. The match ends 3 - 4.
