35996 fans braved the pouring rain at
Stadio ''Pasquale Luiso''.
Dags Krivmans was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Lorenzo Ladrón and
Anders Hyfeldt.
EATCAT had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Simonetti - Rotondo, Corso, Terralavoro - Batta, Melchor, bin Senin, Tumminia, Garifullina - Bogo, Monteverdi.
Team tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Zaccheo - Storevik, Snellman, Giraud - Grünberger, Carratelli, Mentone, Galeazzi, Femìa - Scolaro, Santillán.
EATCAT clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
C. Bogo spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch.
The guests took the lead 16 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
R. Santillán scoring to make it 0 - 1.
J. Grünberger's speed was clear to see after 29 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
R. Santillán who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 0 - 2.
The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as
M. bin Senin tried lifting the ball over keeper
L. Zaccheo. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar.
J. Grünberger was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
P. Femìa, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
C. Bogo almost reduced the deficit, having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper.
Halftime score was 0 - 2.
Team enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
EATCAT's
C. Bogo got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 1 - 2.
Team increased their lead after 64 minutes when
L. Scolaro broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Team had a magnificent opportunity after 77 minutes as
A. Storevik hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 82 minute mark, Team's
P. Femìa hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
After 83 minutes,
R. Santillán sent the corner kick right to
G. Carratelli who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 4!
L. Scolaro was, after 84 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
R. Simonetti made the save.
After 86 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
A. Galeazzi who increased Team's lead to 1 - 5.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Team lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
L. Zaccheo left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
M. Gasparri was the replacement.
Team had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
G. Monteverdi performed admirably for EATCAT.
On the other hand,
E. Terralavoro's play was disheartening.
Team's top performer was clearly
L. Scolaro.
M. Gasparri was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 5.
