A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 47376 to
"Garden Park".
Engelbert Planell was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Kjell Paulsen and
Håkan Åherberg.
A.C. started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Antonarelli - Dalla Valle, Derosi, Valenzi - Cassarà, de Winkel, Carrasco, Puppolo - Milanović, Mali, Todescato.
Shadows decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Barela - Di Silvestro, Malpezzi, Vita - Cento, Meola, Cinghialo, Fregni, Manea - Šijan, Casale.
Slack defending gave A.C. a chance to take the lead with 2 minutes played, but
I. Todescato's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
A. Di Silvestro of Shadows seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
L. Malpezzi.
13 minutes into the game,
E. Derosi had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
E. Belluardo.
V. Cassarà had a chance to even the score when A.C. were awarded a penalty kick 31 minutes into the match, but the keeper deflected his shot over the bar.
M. Dalla Valle showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 38 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away.

A. Di Silvestro received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
A.C. had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
F. Meola found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat.
Shadows's
A. Manea got himself booked for a foul.
A foul after 59 minutes resulted in a free kick.
V. Cassarà cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 2 - 1.
Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Shadows manager used a brief break in play after 70 minutes to give the players new directives.

It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
C. Puppolo found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.

A.C. put themselves up 3 - 1 when
C. Puppolo broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.

A. Manea seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Shadows making it 3 - 2.
The Shadows players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team.
The Shadows coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy.
83 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
M. Dalla Valle broke through, making the score 4 - 2 for A.C..
A.C. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
A.C.'s top performer was clearly
I. Todescato.
On the other hand,
E. Del Rosal's play was disheartening.
Shadows's best player was
S. Casale.
F. Barela was a disappointment, however.
