Clouds darkened the skies at Paul Hewson Arena as 33399 spectators turned up for the match. Taeke Houtepen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Neven Kruneš and Angelomaria Vesci. Shadows's A. Manea was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - S. Casale managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 0 after 6 minutes. 22 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as L. Malpezzi broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Shadows. C. Cinghialo almost put Shadows ahead another goal when he curled a free kick over the defensive wall and almost into the net, but the visitors' keeper got there just in time to knock it wide. Shadows's A. Manea had an excellent opportunity after 28 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Shadows, with 55 percent of the ball.

A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 63 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but C. Morrissey got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. V. Popovski has acquired a talent for predicting the movements of the opposing defence over the years and this almost resulted in a goal 67 minutes into the match. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Shadows to 3 - 0 as A. Manea finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. The players of Shadows now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Shadows's A. Di Silvestro was shown a yellow card after 70 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for DarkNiuppy, A. Blaha was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. P. Turschl replaced him. A great save by keeper C. Morrissey after 73 minutes kept the visitors in the game after A. Šijan struck from the left with a real cannonball. In the lead, Shadows adjusted their style of play with 75 minutes gone. F. Meola of Shadows received a yellow card after 81 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The referee showed DarkNiuppy's P. Turschl the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 83 minutes Shadows's F. Meola contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Shadows claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Shadows's top performer was clearly S. Casale. However, R. Dusi made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating DarkNiuppy player was without a doubt F. Della Casa. On the other hand, P. Turschl's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 0.
