M. Grifoni suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar.
D. Mücher stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving VeneziaMestre the goal to make it 2 - 0.
By now, the players in VeneziaMestre felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
