Due to an all-day shower, 18529 paying spectators got to see the game on a field-turned-swamp at Baraonda. Leonard Hausaker was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Brian Honore and Eduardo Moya. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and RegginAmi formed up in a 3-4-3 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. They fielded: Solhaug - Gerber, Bauducco, Braun - Vargas, Nistor, van Os, Frera - Valenta, Fortuna, Kvarnstål.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and schumby prefers a 3-4-3. Let's see how this plays out for them. The following players had been selected: Messineo - Popper, Mazziotta, Celaya - Morariu, Grootjans, Krüzen, Speranzon - Kläsener, Buccioli, Musante.

RegginAmi took the lead 5 minutes in, after C. van Os's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 1 - 0. The muddy field made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit J. Popper just fine. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in RegginAmi's J. Kvarnstål bringing the lead up to 2 - 0. The visitors' right side was dangerous today; F. Speranzon made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily scored, reducing the gap to 2 - 1 after 31 minutes. RegginAmi solidified their lead at the 37 minute mark, as C. van Os snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 3 - 1. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased RegginAmi's lead to 4 - 1 as C. van Os finished it off clinically, firing the shot from a terrible angle. He'd already scored two, and with the third, C. van Os had a hattrick! At this point, it was obvious that the players of RegginAmi lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 1. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that RegginAmi would have 57 percent possession in this half was spot on!

RegginAmi's J. Fortuna was delighted to score as he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing keeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing. 5 - 1 after 59 minutes. After 69 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by V. Braun might have resulted in another goal for RegginAmi. However, G. Messineo made a spectacular save. 74 minutes into the game, RegginAmi adjusted their style of play and hoped to close out the game with their lead intact. schumby's V. Buccioli tried his best to get one back with a well placed free kick, but it wasn't quite good enough and E. Solhaug managed to block the shot. schumby's M. Kläsener had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 75 minutes gone. S. Porcaro was the replacement. The slippery field made speedy runs nearly impossible, which hampered C. Mazziotta in particular. Content with how the game was proceeding, the RegginAmi coach let S. Weißbacher come on for T. Vargas after 80 minutes. The forty-five minutes were dominated by RegginAmi, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.

RegginAmi's best player was J. Frera. Good thing V. Braun isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Most important schumby player was E. Grootjans. I can't remember C. Mazziotta ever having a worse night than he just had. The match ends 5 - 1.
