Napoletana 4 - 1 Libertini (366102148)

The 21402 spectators at San Paulinho were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Karnila Azarau was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yuriy Kutsenko and Rutger Riechers. Napoletana started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Starters: Kragt - Steurs, Mihaită - Blaiotta, Robert, Gorbunov, Martinsson, Lindsey - Popa, Tisoň, Poienaru.

Libertini decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Schiariti - Eylon, Pannula, Torstensen - Gugerli, Mantena, Kleinpenning, Granyena, Moesch - Czeszewski, Josten.

Napoletana seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Napoletana had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Making his way up the middle 7 minutes into the match, J. Blaiotta almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert D. Schiariti blocked it to keep the score level. Libertini's M. Kleinpenning gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 20 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Napoletana's V. Gorbunov was shown a yellow card after 22 minutes for slicing down an opponent. With clinical precision, the cross from winger D. Lindsey found its way to I. Poienaru's head, and a screaming header gave Napoletana the goal after 30 minutes played. 1 - 1 Napoletana took the lead, 2 - 1, after a penalty 34 minutes into the match. G. Mihaită scored from the penalty spot. Libertini's T. Mantena's long shot really ought to have found the net 37 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Napoletana, with 55 percent of the ball.

G. Mihaită increased Napoletana's lead to 3 - 1 with a penalty spot cannonball. By now, the players in Napoletana felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. T. Eylon had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper R. Kragt was simply unbeatable. After 75 minutes, Libertini used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. As the game started to slip away for Libertini, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. A well placed corner kick from G. Mihaită was followed by I. Poienaru's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Napoletana, the score now 4 - 1. Napoletana had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

The most dominating Napoletana player was without a doubt I. Poienaru. G. Steurs turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Libertini player was T. Mantena. N. Moesch was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
