The 34392 fans in attendance at Drunken Ship were roasting in the hot sun. Pedro Craveiro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Konrad Sachsendorff and Drew Humphries. Drunks tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Vila - Proot, Aavisto, Chartier - Hical, Justesen, Brentjes, Hutton - Rumbaut, Håkansson, Gaspar.

Pinda decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Yu - Skywalker, Katunarić, Oca, Vallieri - Cavanna, Sasson, Košuta, Tudor - Lynch, Lakić.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Pinda. A well placed corner kick from J. Lakić was followed by B. Oca's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Pinda, the score now 0 - 1. Drunks's T. Proot had a hard, curved free kick after 21 minutes that would have paid off, had it gone just a little lower. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 24 minutes gave Drunks a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and S. Justesen stepped up to the challenge. 1 - 1 Drunks could have put themselves ahead after 32 minutes but R. Brentjes missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. With 33 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Pinda resulted in a counterattack that set A. Košuta free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to A. Rumbaut, but the Drunks player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 41 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when R. Cavanna tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Drunks, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Pinda manager used a brief break in play after 46 minutes to give the players new directives. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Drunks to 3 - 1 as A. Rumbaut finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. O. Hical increased the lead for Drunks to 4 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Coming from the right, D. Hutton almost managed to score another goal for Drunks, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. The crowd gasped as G. Vallieri of Pinda was flattened by an opponent after 73 minutes and had to be carried off. D. Pelozo came in off the bench. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 74 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving J. Lakić completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper. After 76 minutes, O. Hical put Drunks ahead 5 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Drunks claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

The most dominating Drunks player was without a doubt O. Håkansson. L. Vila was a disappointment, however. R. Cavanna performed admirably for Pinda. R. Skywalker on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 1.
