Dark skies made the crowd of 12600 at Stadio delle Grave a little nervous, but the rain held off. Gerard Bult was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thomas Balsiger and Rune Nymark. Schäferskampp put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, Z. Pawlak would have put Cavriago up another goal 29 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. A spectacular volley from E. Lagoa almost resulted in a goal, but a good save from the keeper kept it out, and J. Vergeli could only knock the loose ball wide. Santarrosalia showed their counterattack skill 38 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with M. Fechete scoring uncontested for 1 - 1. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Cavriago enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

D. Carrel of Santarrosalia seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by A. Woelfl. Cavriago were close to putting the equaliser away after 69 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to Z. Pawlak in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Santarrosalia's H. Carltorp increasing the lead to 3 - 1. Confident in their lead, Santarrosalia's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Having just succeeded in blocking a dangerous counter attack, the defending team was outwitted by the follow-up Santarrosalia free kick. The routine was expertly executed as the ball was shifted quickly to one side of the box, then back to the other. A. Bellezza appeared on cue near the post, and steered it past the goalie. 4 - 1, after 74 minutes. Cavriago certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but Z. Pawlak just wasn't able to finish. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cavriago, with 69 percent of the ball.

Most important Santarrosalia player was H. Carltorp. However, A. Fracchia made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Cavriago player was without a doubt G. Consoli. C. Schäferskampp on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.
