Figino 3 - 2 AZ

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 18722 that came out to Figino's Arena. Ole Jenssen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Antonio Gomes de Alvarenga and Szymon Maćkowiak. Our studio analysts were correct. Figino has taken the field in a 4-5-1 alignment. The following players took the field: Panfilov - Girard, Portillo, Garaz, Scarzanella - Bergianti, Fort, Harth, Hasler, Floeter - Wilmar.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and AZ prefers a 2-5-3. Let's see how this plays out for them. They fielded: Balarezo - Mannazzu, Fekete - Stahlhut, Guarda, Lovrinovič, Nelson, Juhana - Grò, Turino, Lemberg.

Figino saw most attack opportunities on the wings by using their brilliant ability to push the attack in the right direction. As the 1 minute mark approached, the Figino manager decided it was time for a substitution. G. Hasler reluctantly made way for E. Dammtor. I. Garaz seemed to be defying gravity as he elegantly headed in a goal for Figino after a corner kick that was nicely executed by M. Wilmar. That makes it 1 - 0. Figino had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to go down the wing instead. Figino's A. Girard was delighted to score as he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing keeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing. 2 - 0 after 10 minutes. AZ were given a lifeline when the referee pointed to the spot 11 minutes into the game. O. Turino struck the penalty well, making it 2 - 1. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. AZ set the tempo, maintaining 59 percent of possession.

The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes gone AZ's coach gave P. Radomiński the opportunity to try to change the team's fortunes. H. Stahlhut reluctantly left the field. As the game started to slip away for AZ, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. The AZ players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. 75 minutes into the game, Figino were awarded a penalty that M. Wilmar converted into a bigger lead without so much as a how-do-you-do to the visiting keeper. It's 3 - 1 now! Figino's M. Scarzanella had an excellent opportunity 76 minutes in, shooting after bringing down a ball from the right, but he missed the goal by miles! The visitors' right side was dangerous today; P. Radomiński made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily scored, reducing the gap to 3 - 2 after 81 minutes. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Figino's I. Garaz finally got himself booked for a foul. G. Guarda made a run for the goal 85 minutes into the game but the home team's left side was too well defended and the attack fizzled out. The forty-five minutes were dominated by AZ, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.

Figino's top performer was clearly M. Wilmar. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because G. Panfilov seemed to stumble all over the pitch. AZ's best player was O. Turino. I can't remember S. Balarezo ever having a worse night than he just had. The match ends 3 - 2.
