At this point, it was obvious that the players of Atletico lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 30 minutes into the game, Atletico seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. van Mastrigt squirmed through their central defence after 34 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. With 38 minutes played, Atletico put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to B. Liljenstad, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Halftime score was 5 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Atletico, with 79 percent of the ball.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Atletico was able to get his message across, and raised Atletico's organisation to solid. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Kalker got himself booked. The manager of Atletico was not happy. 71 minutes into the game, Atletico were awarded a penalty that B. Liljenstad turned into 6 - 0 without a problem. 84 minutes in, Atletico appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only poor. The Atletico free kick 85 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of J. Almeyda, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 7 - 0! 86 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as J. Almeyda broke through, making the score 8 - 0 for Atletico. That made three goals for J. Almeyda and he was marked down for the hat trick. Cheers filled the stadium as A. Varpula broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 9 - 0 to Atletico. Atletico had most of the ball, with 77 percent of possession.

Atletico's best player was J. Almeyda. C. Cavedon on the other hand, had a terrible day. M. Fasanotti performed admirably for Delfinese. V. Voroli was a disappointment, however. The match ends 9 - 0.
