Clear skies welcomed the 35901 spectators who had made their way to anti-plan arena. Christian Chevillon was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Giuseppe Repetti and Tevita Craft. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Ozolnieki^. Ficotoro found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2. 2 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Ozolnieki^, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Fileja were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 50 minutes, D. Šilhavý swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 2 - 3. Ozolnieki^ needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 58 minutes U. Līkcepure made way for N. Grundulis. V. Slabodzich of Fileja was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish A. Gailītis, which resulted in a goal making the score 2 - 4. The situation leading to Ozolnieki^'s penalty 66 minutes into the match will be much debated after the game ends, but the competent G. Sánchez Saviñón didn't hesitate to make the score 3 - 4. The crowd roared in delight as O. Shemer finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Ozolnieki^ 67 minutes into the match. 4 - 4. Ozolnieki^ had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

G. Sánchez Saviñón performed admirably for Ozolnieki^. However, N. Grundulis made a disastrous appearance. Fileja's best player was J. De la Venta. On the other hand, H. Grīnis's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 4.
