Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Ratonga's Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 36000. Enno Sadam was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Manuel Antonio Alba and Jonas Oblak. All of Jūrmala was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. Silovs of Cats was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 33 minutes into the match, N. Popov came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 36 minutes into the match, an alert R. Leitāns bagged the ball for Cats, levelling the score to 1 - 1. Cats's O. Kryachko left the field after 38 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was K. Kostrub. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Laser, with 51 percent of the ball.

Cats took the lead 50 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as S. Silovs elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. The bench was restless, and with 50 minutes passed Laser's coach gave J. Arandia the opportunity the player had been hoping for. M. Brener reluctantly left the field. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Laser's H. Naish was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 50 minutes. R. Roadknight was given a chance to change things around. With 55 minutes played, R. Leitāns could have brought this one home for Cats as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. 64 minutes in, Laser's P. Cassizzi received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 75 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 2 - 2 as C. Arzalluz struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 76 minutes allowed R. Kamerman to score for Laser. The scoreboard now read 2 - 3. After 77 minutes, J. Eriksen made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 3 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Laser, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Most important Cats player was R. Leitāns. K. Kostrub turned in a dismal performance, however. Laser's best player was M. Novaković. R. Roadknight on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 3.
