(366408848)

03-03-2012 11.45
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 45454 had shown up at
Godzilla MegaArena for the match.
Christophe Mora was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Eino Hallamaa and
Quentin Leterrier.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Godzilla.
Lineup: Hamilton - Muleta, Grasser, Hartinger, Drăguşin - Wolber, Vītiņš, Rougier, Kozić - Pérez, Momcilović.
Vienroči started off with a 4-5-1 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Eihvalds - Heiberg Schmidt, Grundschober, Isorna, Cherepnev - Shlionskiy, Duijzer, Collignon, Agosto, Brossault - van Esschoten.
Godzilla used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
M. Momcilović, but the Godzilla player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
Godzilla's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
S. Heiberg Schmidt from Vienroči a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 17 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Perseverence paid off for Vienroči, as their
N. Grundschober equalised making it 1 - 1 with a fabulous free kick.
I. Vītiņš was very close to giving Godzilla the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 29 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar.
Godzilla's
A. Pérez had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 30 minutes having been played.
A. Rutkovskis was the replacement.
32 minutes in, Vienroči's
A. Duijzer received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Vienroči, with 59 percent of the ball.
As the 60 minute mark approached, the Godzilla coach decided it was time for a substitution.
B. Rougier reluctantly made way for
E. Driska on the pitch.
As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
F. Drăguşin took over the role of being the Godzilla captain.
Godzilla were very close to putting themselves one up after 64 minutes as
M. Momcilović got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
Godzilla pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
Godzilla almost scored after a counterattack 73 minutes into the match, but
E. Driska took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net.
Vienroči had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.
Godzilla's top performer was clearly
M. Momcilović.
J. Wolber on the other hand, had a terrible day.
M. van Esschoten performed admirably for Vienroči.
On the other hand,
G. Brossault's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 1.
