Godzilla 1 - 1 Rastafari
(366408854)

10-03-2012 11.45
Due to an all-day shower, 32160 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Godzilla MegaArena.
Edilio Gilardoni was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nejc Dvorančič and
Benedek Havas.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Godzilla.
Lineup: Hamilton - Muleta, Grasser, Hartinger, Drăguşin - Wolber, Vītiņš, Rougier, Bonù - Rutkovskis, Momcilović.
Rastafari tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Schöttel - Mirchev, Stupnikov, Mendoza, Dryžys - Śniadecki, Martins, Gavrilescu, Lazdiņš - Dalpas, Uçkaç.
Pressing was the tactic of the day for Godzilla.
Rastafari tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 3 minutes that gave the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. Despite the controversy,
A. Gavrilescu struck home the penalty, as cool as anything.
Godzilla's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle.
It was a bad day for the usually speedy
F. Dalpas. The mud seemed to slow him down.
31 minutes into the game, Rastafari seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
weak level of organisation.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
I. Vītiņš from Godzilla a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 36 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
37 minutes into the game,
G. Grasser had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
F. Shichkov.
After 40 minutes, following yet another great corner,
L. Muleta's flick on at the near post reached
M. Momcilović, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick.
G. Martins didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
Rastafari enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Rastafari had
passable organisation.
Godzilla needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes
B. Rougier made way for
E. Driska.
As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
F. Drăguşin took over the role of being the Godzilla captain.
The counterattacks of Godzilla were deadly and 63 minutes into the game,
I. Vītiņš received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 1 - 1.
After 70 minutes, the visitors nearly went up a goal, but
A. Gavrilescu's free kick hit the crossbar.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Rastafari, with 58 percent of the ball.
Most important Godzilla player was
M. Momcilović.
F. Shichkov was a disappointment, however.
Rastafari's best player was
G. Martins.
However,
P. Stupnikov made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 1.
