48569 spectators arrived at
Godzilla MegaArena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Kai Bang was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bart Cirik and
Anton Veetamm.
People from all over
Rīga had joined up for the derby.
Godzilla tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Hamilton - Muleta, Grasser, Hartinger, Drăguşin - Wolber, Vītiņš, Rougier, Kozić - Pérez, Momcilović.
K.E.F. started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
Starters: Trumms - Dankin, Carboni, Judrups, 豪龙 (Haolong) , Zemchenkov - Cinis, Lima, Silinieks, Fanariotis - Glaudiņš.
It was obvious that Godzilla were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic.
Godzilla pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
A. Pérez gave Godzilla the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
Godzilla's
I. Vītiņš left the field after 27 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
E. Driska.
M. Momcilović could have increased the lead after 38 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
The Godzilla free kick 39 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
V. Kozić, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 0!
K.E.F.'s
R. Glaudiņš got himself booked for a foul.
2 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Godzilla, with 61 percent of the ball.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Godzilla to 3 - 0 as
A. Pérez finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Godzilla's
V. Kozić was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
A. Pérez managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 4 - 0 after 52 minutes.
At that,
A. Pérez was noted down for a hat trick!
After this, you could see that the players of Godzilla were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Godzilla put themselves up 5 - 0 when
V. Kozić broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Godzilla's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle.
After 57 minutes,
M. Momcilović put Godzilla ahead 6 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
The Godzilla players could smell victory in the air.
M. Momcilović wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
A. Rutkovskis after 70 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to Godzilla, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.
F. Drăguşin performed admirably for Godzilla.
E. Driska turned in a dismal performance, however.
K.E.F.'s top performer was clearly
R. Glaudiņš.
R. Zemchenkov was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 6 - 0.
