InterNapolis.s.c. 1 - 2 Pickwick
(366415410)

12-05-2012 12.55
Clear skies welcomed the 17800 spectators who had made their way to
PalaEur.
Markus Maria Falkenflucht was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ferdi Spierings and
Endre Jávor.
InterNapolis.s.c. decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Serôdio - Salmela, Arcontizzi, Martimo - Rodrigues, Chaves, van Ostade, Elói, Annunziata - Marincola, Vecchia.
Pickwick tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Natalicchio - Bange, Guardiola, Vuylsteke, Rummer - Ben-David, Lamprou, Sitek, Beccarini - Thomassen, Galvan.
Pickwick were clearly looking ahead to the next match rather than focusing on the one at hand.
InterNapolis.s.c. took the lead 11 minutes in, as
D. Annunziata broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Pickwick's
C. Beccarini somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
I. Thomassen, who struck for 1 - 1.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
C. Marincola from InterNapolis.s.c. a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 40 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
InterNapolis.s.c. created a good opportunity to score 41 minutes into the match when
M. Salmela's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by InterNapolis.s.c., with 56 percent of the ball.
The Pickwick players had looked too sure of themselves in the first half. Several of the players managed to break this attitude as the second half started, realising they would not be able to win unless they also put in the hard work.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the Pickwick coach decided it was time for a substitution.
D. Sitek reluctantly made way for
I. Davchevski on the pitch.
46 minutes into the game, Pickwick wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
C. Beccarini gave
J. Haugen a quick hug as he left the field.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Pickwick substitution.
J. Hingebjerg came on for
D. Galvan.
After 57 minutes, InterNapolis.s.c. were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
M. Elói did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 68 minutes into the match, and
I. Thomassen wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
J. Hingebjerg would have put Pickwick up another goal 80 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
Pickwick enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
InterNapolis.s.c.'s best player was
F. Chaves.
L. Arcontizzi was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Pickwick player was without a doubt
S. Lamprou.
A. Natalicchio on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 2.
