Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 38124 to Eifonic Latvia Arena. Jan Alexandersson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mieczysław Rajchel and Kay Bentz. Eifonic used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Suerbunnys saw most attack opportunities on the wings. J. Holičár of Eifonic received a yellow card after 29 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Eifonic's V. Lipert left the field after 37 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was O. Napoleonenko. The Eifonic captaincy was handed to T. Ophus. Eifonic's N. Proença tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Some great play up the middle by Eifonic led to a chance for G. Séguret to score after 39 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. The visitors grabbed the lead after M. Wirtamo's free kick succeeded, resulting in a score of 0 - 1. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Eifonic enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

D. Andersons came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over K. Vinklář but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. With 72 minutes played, H. Kausche of Eifonic fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Eifonic had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. A. Dīzenbergs showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 75 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. After a fine move down the middle S. van der Giessen nearly gave the home side a goal after 80 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. Eifonic had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

Eifonic's top performer was clearly G. Séguret. On the other hand, T. Ophus's play was disheartening. D. Dellagiacoma performed admirably for Suerbunnys. M. Wirtamo was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
