A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Milan~ to 3 - 0 as G. Hiser finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. By now, the players in Milan~ felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. G. Santuccio of Lastio received a yellow card after 35 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 36 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by M. Rigg might have resulted in another goal for Milan~. However, P. Martorelli made a spectacular save. The head of H. Deniz connected with a corner kick after 37 minutes, and the ball ended up with M. Zora of Milan~ who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 4 - 0. It was obvious that team Milan~ had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. G. Pietragalla should probably have put his team up another goal after 40 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by P. Martorelli kept the visitors in the game. Lastio's A. Bellone left the field after 42 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was F. Lertora. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Milan~ claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 76 percent.

With 48 minutes played, Milan~ put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to G. Hiser, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Milan~ players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. R. Heus squirmed through their central defence after 55 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0. M. Dambrosio of Lastio was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Milan~ solidified their lead at the 64 minute mark, as G. Hiser dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 7 - 0. By then G. Hiser had scored three goals - a hat trick! There was concern in the stands when, at the 68 minute mark, Milan~'s H. Deniz hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Milan~ managed to extend their lead to 8 - 0 when H. Dönhoff cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Milan~ were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Milan~'s M. Zora increasing the lead to 9 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Milan~, who controlled the ball 81 percent of the time.

Milan~'s top performer was clearly G. Pietragalla. However, L. Scalone made a disastrous appearance. Lastio's best player was G. Santuccio. F. Lertora turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 9 - 0.
