A scorching day at
Camp Now Cavarzere, where 17770 spectators were in place for today's match.
Karl Schmidi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Florentino Clavel and
Ceferino Baltanás.
Cavarzere tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
They fielded: Thabet - Dapifer, Caune, Talarski, ten Hoove - Pollaci, Gassner, Comhaire, Rainato - Lauria, Balestra.
ANti started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Cogo - Del Riccio, Nardinocchi, Gagna, Leporini - Demoro, Benini, Pasi, D'Alessio - Quinto, Kamberi.
Today, Cavarzere's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
After 8 minutes,
V. Balestra came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Cavarzere the lead.
R. Gagna sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
C. Del Riccio after 17 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 1.
With 24 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as
J. ten Hoove flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
Cavarzere had to make a substitution after 25 minutes.
D. Gassner limped off the field and was replaced by
泰. 宮崎 (Miyazaki).
Cavarzere managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
V. Balestra cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
V. Balestra increased the lead for Cavarzere to 4 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
At that,
V. Balestra was noted down for a hat trick!
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Cavarzere lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
4 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Cavarzere enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
Cavarzere put themselves up 5 - 1 when
V. Balestra broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Cavarzere were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
泰. 宮崎 (Miyazaki) could have put Cavarzere up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 61 minutes.
The Cavarzere players could smell victory in the air.
C. Pollaci wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
D. De Falco after 71 minutes.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for Cavarzere, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
Cavarzere's
D. De Falco increased the lead to 6 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 74 minutes.
J. ten Hoove left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 77 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
H. van Marken was the replacement.
Cavarzere solidified their lead at the 79 minute mark, as
F. Lauria dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 7 - 1.
Cavarzere claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 70 percent.
Cavarzere's best player was
F. Lauria.
泰. 宮崎 (Miyazaki) on the other hand, had a terrible day.
E. Nardinocchi performed admirably for ANti.
M. Cogo was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 7 - 1.
