previous 7/10 next 9/10  Rizla 1 - 1 United (366786210)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 11376 to KING SIZE. Rien Sarlemijn was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Martín Andres and Heiko Baerensprung. Rizla started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: Sassoli - Teotino, Celentano, Turco, Magazzini - Quisquo, Rancati, Genghini, De Ambrosis - Piripillo, Guzzanti.

United tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Beggio - Loprieno, Bozza, Di meo, Bulzoni - Zanon, Norelli, Tassotti, Bussinello - Cannone, Mulargia.

R. Genghini caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 16 minutes. This gave Rizla the 1 - 0 lead. Rizla's G. Celentano was shown a yellow card after 19 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for United, M. Zanon was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. C. Zingaretti replaced him. 24 minutes into the match, M. Teotino could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. S. Bussinello knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 1 after 25 minutes. With 27 minutes played, G. Quisquo of Rizla fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. The crowd gasped as N. De Ambrosis of Rizla was flattened by an opponent after 33 minutes and had to be carried off. P. Gullo came in off the bench. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

A foul called during a Rizla counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but M. Teotino's shot rattled off the post. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile G. Turco. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Guzzanti from Rizla a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 59 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The player down was S. Bussinello. The United bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Rizla, with 56 percent of the ball.

Most important Rizla player was M. Teotino. On the other hand, B. Sassoli's play was disheartening. United's top performer was clearly B. Loprieno. G. Norelli on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 1.
