68515 spectators arrived at
NK Kaizen Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Mart Tsirel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jon Torbjärnsson and
Gallus Fried.
People from all over
Ljubljana had joined up for the derby.
Kaizen decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Debelak - Sukič, Messinger, Brøðraberg - Denys, Vrhovčak, Župan, Belokranjc, MacElroy - Železen, Intzes.
Svetovljanski had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: Schaefer - Oprea, Jacquet, Péris - Lovrenčec, Potočki, Slokar, Pavčnik, Barrera - Vidič, Gennari.
After 29 minutes, following yet another great corner,
S. Slokar's flick on at the near post reached
J. Pavčnik, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick.
The referee showed Kaizen's
Y. Intzes the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Making his way up the middle 36 minutes into the match,
M. MacElroy almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
R. Schaefer blocked it to keep the score level.
Svetovljanski's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 37 minutes gone, but
S. Vidič's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
38 minutes into the game, Svetovljanski's
L. Oprea missed an opportunity to score the leading goal from a penalty when he delivered the shot straight into the keeper's hands.
It was 0 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Kaizen, with 51 percent of the ball.
After 49 minutes,
D. Messinger sent the corner kick right to
T. Sukič who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 0!
The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 73 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but
S. Debelak got the best of it, blocking the shot from
L. Jacquet.
M. MacElroy left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
T. Rebolledo was the replacement.
The coach of Kaizen was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 80 minutes,
M. Velkavrh came on for
T. Sukič.
With 85 minutes played, Kaizen's
Y. Intzes almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
After 86 minutes Kaizen's
T. Rebolledo had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony.
P. Plet came in to replace him.
Kaizen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
D. Messinger performed admirably for Kaizen.
P. Plet on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Svetovljanski's best player was
S. Vidič.
However,

The match ends 1 - 0.
