Smart 3 - 2 Debeli (367038518)

Clouds darkened the skies at largie's room as 75000 spectators turned up for the match. Philip Dippold was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andrea Trombetti and Roderic Gomila. Smart tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Da Costa - Srnak, Ramírez, Peterin - Goršak, Caf, Kaňák, Dobrnjac, Landwald - Smerdelj, Zalaznik.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Debeli. The following players took the field: Clanachan - Ñaupari, Infante, D'Anversa - Peterlin, Mikeš, Balent, Rupar, Zani - Javnik, Goncalves.

The wings were the focus of most of Debeli's attacks today. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, M. Zalaznik scored for Smart putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 6 minutes. The referee showed Smart's M. Zalaznik the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The home side's S. Smerdelj curled a free kick home after 24 minutes, putting Smart ahead 2 - 0. The visitors got one back when B. Rupar finished off a pass from the left and scored after 39 minutes. 2 - 1 was the score. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Smart claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

The home side failed to add to their score as S. Smerdelj shot a penalty wide after 62 minutes. B. Rupar finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 63 minutes into the match. Smart's E. Peterin got himself booked for a foul. They were singing the praises of Z. Dobrnjac 72 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Smart. Debeli's J. Infante refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 77 minutes. Possession in this half belonged to Smart, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Smart's top performer was clearly S. Smerdelj. A. Goršak was a disappointment, however. Most important Debeli player was B. Rupar. V. Peterlin turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
