Wboys mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. J. Røkke had a good try after 10 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. The corner kick from A. Petrunin was powerfully met by the head of S. Martinez to make the score 1 - 0. The referee showed Torpedo's Y. Voskoboy the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Wboys's D. Mestre put the ball in the onion bag after 24 minutes to make it 1 - 1. 27 minutes in, Torpedo's 洪. 轩勇 (Xuanyong) received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 33 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Torpedo was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, Y. Canu would have put Wboys up another goal 82 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. The Torpedo free kick 83 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of Y. Voskoboy, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 3 - 3! Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.
