Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 16304 to Rudar Velenje Arena. Laurent Hourdin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yaşar Yoma and Vito D'apolito. Korotan almost scored after a swift counterattack 70 minutes into the game, but C. Delayen put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Korotan's S. Njegovan refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 71 minutes. Velenje claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

The most dominating Velenje player was without a doubt Y. Van Dievoort. However, J. Minšek made a disastrous appearance. Korotan's best player was Y. Gaist. R. De Decker turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
