previous 6/10 next 8/10  Milachkov 5 - 0 POLOMIE (367117520)

38441 punters turned up at Milachkov Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Per Rauff was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Victor Olaru and Tatu Vattulainen. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Milachkov. They fielded: Flach - Ørts, Kinzenbach, Bokhove - Werner, Somol, Wellingsbüttel, Cotelette, Hadžan - Lebeau, Onkelinx.

POLOMIE had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Starters: Petev - Czank, Chergov, Takó, Gansempan - Kostadinov, Yanushev, Eggan, Rangelov, Kondev - Pieren.

4 minutes into the game, E. Kostadinov almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Milachkov's M. Lebeau got himself booked for a foul. POLOMIE had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 27 minutes in when Y. Chergov came up alone against T. Flach who managed a block. With 35 minutes played T. Onkelinx almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. After 36 minutes, Milachkov raised their score by one when K. Werner's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by M. Lebeau. 1 - 0. It might be a while before the fans see Milachkov's L. Cotelette again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 40 minute mark. He was replaced by G. Marchetti. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Milachkov, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Milachkov put themselves up 2 - 0 when T. Onkelinx broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The home side's T. Onkelinx curled a free kick home after 59 minutes, putting Milachkov ahead 3 - 0. The coach of Milachkov was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes, A. Pérocheau came on for K. Werner. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Milachkov scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for B. Hadžan after 67 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Milachkov coach let Y. Sugitani replace M. Lebeau after 75 minutes. J. Ørts increased the lead for Milachkov to 5 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! At this point, it was obvious that the players of Milachkov lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Milachkov, with 53 percent of the ball.

A. Pérocheau performed admirably for Milachkov. Y. Sugitani on the other hand, had a terrible day. POLOMIE's top performer was clearly R. Pieren. D. Petev turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
