Clouds darkened the skies at Христо Ботев as 34114 spectators turned up for the match. Jean-David Verduyckt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stefan van de Mortel and Benedictus Quix. All of Plovdiv was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. The coach had his head in his hands after realising he could not send a replacement onto the pitch, and the team had to continue a man short. D. Chromec's speed was clear to see after 20 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released Z. Orvos who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 0 - 2. By now, the players in Zlatna felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from D. Chromec after 26 minutes, and prevented Zlatna from going up another goal. That Zlatna's H. Zumista has the ability of doing what no one expects him to do was shown as he ran over an opposing defender, snatched the ball and passed to Z. Orvos who hit it hard into the wide open goal after 30 minutes: 0 - 3! The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Zlatna, who controlled the ball 71 percent of the time.

Z. Orvos could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. A drive down the left side allowed Z. Svatý to get in close and score another goal for Zlatna after 64 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 4. After 79 minutes Zlatna's E. Gravim contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Zlatna came close to extending their lead as Z. Orvos delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 80 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Zlatna claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.

Most important Botev player was C. Bass. M. Santa turned in a dismal performance, however. J. Sałajczyk performed admirably for Zlatna. However, M. Ronchetti made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 4.
