Clouds darkened the skies at
Frenadol´s Arena as 21624 spectators turned up for the match.
Mattias Börjesson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Michael Selstad and
Armando Murrieta.
Turolense tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Dinu - Gourdin, Szabó, Carrado, Dobrišek - Robles Sánchez, Narváez Barba, Zamorano, Ermann - Sarmiento, Łysio.
Vasko decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Lineup: 淡安 (Danan) - Berensztajn, Fuster Ruiz, Delvigo - Duysal, Schroeckenfuchs, Schattenhofer, Heke - Monterroso, Hoogendoorn, Utterstedt.
J. Ermann gave Turolense the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
With 17 minutes played, Turolense's
G. Sarmiento almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
The home side's
G. Sarmiento came close to extending the lead 21 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
楊. 淡安 (Danan) managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
J. Heke could have made it all square after 31 minutes, if only his free kick had been a few inches to the other side of the post.
Halftime score was 1 - 0.
Turolense claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
The crowd gasped as
J. Fuster Ruiz of Vasko was flattened by an opponent after 48 minutes and had to be carried off.
G. Boykov came in off the bench.
After 60 minutes, Vasko switched
A. Schattenhofer with
B. Principato, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
The Turolense free kick 72 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
A. Zamorano, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 0!
With 73 minutes played,
A. Zamorano could have brought this one home for Turolense as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
After 75 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
G. Sarmiento might have resulted in another goal for Turolense. However,
楊. 淡安 (Danan) made a spectacular save.
Turolense had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.
G. Robles Sánchez performed admirably for Turolense.
V. Dinu on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Vasko player was
X. Monterroso.
However,
K. Berensztajn made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 0.
