(367360447)

14-04-2012 14.00
A scorching day at
New NY Stadium, where 40576 spectators were in place for today's match.
Jozef Iwanski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Carl-Heinz Mueller-Frey and
Arnon Shtengel.
Planet decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Samantakis - Opic, Zúñiga Téllez, Sanz López - Magler, Lozano García, Bosque, Fernández, Blay - Ciuffetelli, Cabranes.
TWS had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Kassari - Celani, Sutera, Anderson - Cosculluela, Carrasquedo, Cendoya, Zurita Luna, Agassis - Henriksson, Kiiver.
With 13 minutes played
J. Fernández almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
After 24 minutes TWS's
E. Agassis limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
After 33 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant.
A. Opic easily put the ball away to give the lead to Planet. 1 - 0
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
M. Zúñiga Téllez squirmed through their central defence after 37 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
Planet's
A. Opic struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 3 - 0 after 38 minutes.
The players of Planet now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Planet claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
T. Magler of Planet was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
J. Blay who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
With 68 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, TWS showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 1 when
T. Kiiver got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
After 70 minutes, TWS used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach.
As the game started to slip away for TWS, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
Planet enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
Planet's top performer was clearly
J. Fernández.
P. Sanz López on the other hand, had a terrible day.
J. Zurita Luna performed admirably for TWS.
B. Anderson was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
