Planet 3 - 1 TWS

A scorching day at New NY Stadium, where 40576 spectators were in place for today's match. Jozef Iwanski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Carl-Heinz Mueller-Frey and Arnon Shtengel. After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, Planet decided to go with a 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Samantakis - Opic, Zúñiga Téllez, Sanz López - Magler, Lozano García, Bosque, Fernández, Blay - Ciuffetelli, Cabranes.

Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! TWS will go to battle in a 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been selected: Kassari - Celani, Sutera, Anderson - Cosculluela, Carrasquedo, Cendoya, Zurita Luna, Agassis - Henriksson, Kiiver.

With 13 minutes played J. Fernández almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. With 24 minutes played, TWS's E. Agassis pulled up limping after a savage, cowardly challenge. But he's not yet ready to shuffle off this mortal coil. He's staying in to play on. The valiant never taste of death but once! With 33 minutes on the clock, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant. A. Opic easily put the 1 - 0 goal away to hand the lead to Planet. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. M. Zúñiga Téllez was able to squirm through the central defense after 37 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 2 - 0. Planet's A. Opic struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 3 - 0 after 38 minutes. Planet's players now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Planet had 54...54 percent possession. AH AH AH!

Planet's coach was furious with T. Magler after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref. The sunny day didn't make things easy for J. Blay who wasn't his usual powerful self on the field. With 68 minutes played, TWS showed they hadn't given up and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 1 when T. Kiiver got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. After 70 minutes, TWS used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. As the game started to slip away for TWS, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. Planet set the tempo, maintaining 56 percent of possession.

Planet's top performer was clearly J. Fernández. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by P. Sanz López today. J. Zurita Luna performed admirably for TWS. Speaking of stinking up the place, B. Anderson sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The match ends 3 - 1.
