Clear skies welcomed the 18063 spectators who had made their way to El Patio de las Canteras. Thore Robatsch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eckhard Suete and Gerry de Balogh. Canteras started off with a 5-3-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Noboa - 福洪 (Fuhong) , Lindhsjö, Sapir, Sligte, Ledesma - Kurzaj, Prestía, Keijsers - Chmielewski, Larraona.

Aimar21 had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Barberán - Díaz de Campomanes, Gurowitsch, Janků - Ramsdal, Posadas, Doyle, Busquets, Truţulescu - Haitze, Coremans.

Canteras were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The cannonball from 35 metres by E. Gurowitsch of Aimar21 was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. Canteras played a good counterattacking move down the left 9 minutes into the match, with J. Larraona finishing well for 1 - 0. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, P. Kurzaj got himself booked. The manager of Canteras was not happy. P. Kurzaj increased the lead for Canteras to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! B. Díaz de Campomanes of Aimar21 received a yellow card after 41 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. A counterattack by Canteras after 43 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but J. Larraona, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Aimar21, with 63 percent of the ball.

F. Doyle had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper A. Noboa was simply unbeatable. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 56 minutes, Aimar21 tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. 63 minutes into the game, Aimar21's attack got through on the right, but B. Díaz de Campomanes couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms. Given a free kick close to the byline, Aimar21 tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let B. Díaz de Campomanes slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 1, 72 minutes into the game. Aimar21 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

Canteras's top performer was clearly F. Prestía. A. Noboa turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Aimar21 player was without a doubt M. Busquets. I. Truţulescu on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
