(367366793)

12-05-2012 14.00
Due to an all-day shower, 27859 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
El Madreñeru.
Jørn Jegindø was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andy Micu and
Kupe Hanlon.
Ceriñola tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Maldonado - Vidal, Olofsson, Escourido, Jiménez Gracia - 爍坤 (Shuokun) , Pujol, Maestre Lobo, Welten - Borrell, Hole.
TON started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
Lineup: Mitrev - Podsiadły, Eeckhout, Ortiz Diaz, Skerlj, Ryborg - Cunvas, Raunkjær, Ljubisavljević - Cima, Arqué.
For their match strategy, TON had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
M. Jiménez Gracia was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on!
R. Cima finished off the counterattack of TON from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 1.
Ceriñola's
M. Jiménez Gracia was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 29 minutes.
R. Cima was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a TON counterattack from the left after 44 minutes. His neat finish made the score 0 - 2.
Confident in their lead, TON's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
After 44 minutes, the defensive line of TON created a counterattack through the middle that gave
J. Ortiz Diaz a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
It was 0 - 2 at the break.
Ceriñola enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Ceriñola's
R. Welten had the ball at his feet in front of goal after a quickly taken free kick after 65 minutes, but was robbed of it in the blink of an eye by an onrushing defender.
The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed Ceriñola's coach gave
A. Campo the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
K. Olofsson reluctantly left the field.
Ceriñola's
A. Pujol managed a superb strike from the left after 76 minutes that would have left goalkeeper
S. Mitrev without a chance, had it not hit the post.
Having just won a lot of ground following a quick turn of play, TON were given a free kick at a sharp angle. Rather than going for the direct shot, the defence was bypassed by a few sideways passes, giving
J. Arqué the chance to slip through at goal. Nice teamwork! And 0 - 3, 77 minutes into the game.
A. Pujol tried to get a goal back for Ceriñola but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move.
A penalty kick was awarded to Ceriñola 79 minutes into the match, and
R. Welten expertly put it away. 1 - 3.
R. Welten did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
Ceriñola had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
Most important Ceriñola player was
M. Jiménez Gracia.
On the other hand,
V. Borrell's play was disheartening.
The most dominating TON player was without a doubt
J. Arqué.
However,
E. Ryborg made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 3.
