Rockin Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Vincent Kindgård was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mikael Nordblom and
Alfredo Bravo.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Wonkers.
They fielded: Bartolozzi - Eira, Káplár, Forestan - Fyhrtorp, Navarro, Páramo Ortiz, Villaverde, Coelho - Schopoff, Zormpas.
Vallegrande started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Urra - Paflik, Montejo, Orteu, Zatón, Ystmark - Piña, Bejega, Fromont - Careta, Azuri.
For their match strategy, Vallegrande had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
After 16 minutes, Vallegrande's
E. Careta made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
Wonkers's
M. Villaverde had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 25 minutes having been played.
H. Vázquez was the replacement.
Vallegrande played a good counterattacking move down the left 29 minutes into the match, with
J. Orteu finishing well for 0 - 2.
The counterattacks of Vallegrande were deadly and 35 minutes into the game,
M. Bejega received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 0 - 3.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Vallegrande lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
After 37 minutes, a long pass from Vallegrande's
R. Montejo caught the defence out of position.
A. Azuri collected the ball, and with the goal at his mercy calmly rolled the ball just inside the post. 0 - 4.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4.
Wonkers claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
T. Zormpas did everything he could to get one back for his Wonkers, but keeper
M. Urra denied him with a spectacular block.
Vallegrande had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 57 minutes, but
J. Orteu's shot from the left sailed high over the bar.
The home crowd cheered when, after 73 minutes,
E. Careta's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
Wonkers almost scored after a counterattack 74 minutes into the match, but
G. Navarro took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net.
With 75 minutes played,
M. Bejega of Vallegrande fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Wonkers enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Most important Wonkers player was
T. Zormpas.
However,
A. Bartolozzi made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Vallegrande player was without a doubt
A. Azuri.
R. Montejo was a disappointment, however.
