Dark skies made the crowd of 30397 at Aljawhara a little nervous, but the rain held off. Moisés Nunes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Henning Nordtorp and Preben 'Chefen' Elkjær. sorpreson tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Saravillo's C. Galvin gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 3 minutes with a superb strike from the right. With 5 minutes played, sorpreson's A. Martí Tovar found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. sorpreson's Á. Ferrer Sax left the field after 8 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was G. Palombarini. Given a free kick close to the byline, Saravillo tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let S. Ortega Iniesta slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 2, 36 minutes into the game. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Saravillo lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

S. Ortega Iniesta was, after 52 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper W. Wubbels made the save. Saravillo's C. Galvin got himself booked for a foul. After 56 minutes, C. Turra sent the corner kick right to F. Andreasson who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 3! The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed sorpreson's coach gave F. Costa the opportunity the player had been hoping for. J. Kaizer reluctantly left the field. The sorpreson coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. C. Raimberdiev tried to get a goal back for sorpreson but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. Saravillo came close to extending their lead as J. Peeters delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 77 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Martí Tovar from sorpreson a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 78 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! In a fantastic display of determination, Saravillo's C. Galvin forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. P. Månsson received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 80 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Saravillo fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 83 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for F. Andreasson who increased Saravillo's lead to 0 - 5. 84 minutes in, sorpreson's M. Kottermair received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by sorpreson, with 51 percent of the ball.

M. Kottermair performed admirably for sorpreson. W. Wubbels on the other hand, had a terrible day. Saravillo's best player was S. Ortega Iniesta. C. Galvin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
