Pérez made a spectacular save. Gorrria's J. Almendros left the field after 33 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was S. van Valkengoeds. With 38 minutes played, POLILLAS put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to D. Chell, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. POLILLAS's M. Zuazo refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 39 minutes. Gorrria breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 42 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar. F. Bordás was called on to replace Gorrria's L. Grimsø after 43 minutes following a nasty collision. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Gorrria, with 53 percent of the ball.

Cheers filled the stadium as P. Soria broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to POLILLAS. The coach of POLILLAS was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 70 minutes, S. Michas came on for P. Soria. S. Michas was handed the POLILLAS captain's armband. POLILLAS's G. Lins had an excellent opportunity after 70 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! In an effort to secure the lead, POLILLAS changed their tactic after 71 minutes. After 76 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by POLILLAS was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. After 78 minutes, Gorrria used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. The score became 4 - 0 at 78 minutes into the game, when POLILLAS were given a penalty which N. Nanotti blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Confident in their lead, POLILLAS's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Content with how the game was proceeding, the POLILLAS coach let B. Veber replace J. Marina after 85 minutes. The POLILLAS players could smell victory in the air. G. García-Drake wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for A. Zayas after 87 minutes. Possession in this half belonged to Gorrria, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

POLILLAS's best player was G. Lins. S. Michas was a disappointment, however. Gorrria's top performer was clearly A. Henao. D. Pérez turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
