AT.MADRID 1 - 2 Maliaño
(367420739)

10-03-2012 15.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 23302 that came out to
EL COLCHONERO.
Ricardo Carvallo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Willem Laporte and
Bruno de Deus.
AT.MADRID decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Bevilacqua - Atsalenios, 恒正 (Hengzheng), Pekkan - Murdock, Díaz de Ledesma, Escudero, Rößer, Martins - Hadatsch, Ravid.
Maliaño tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Nestares - Melenas, Llongueres, Moralejo, Fuentes, van der Duyn - Løkken, Virtanen, Henriksson - Hansen, Wayenberg.
Maliaño clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
With 5 minutes played, Maliaño's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
V. Løkken he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 1.
R. Wayenberg received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 8 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Maliaño fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
With 30 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Maliaño resulted in a counterattack that set
V. Llongueres free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
Possession in this half belonged to AT.MADRID, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
M. Henriksson wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat.
F. Pekkan almost reduced the deficit, having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
Y. Atsalenios got himself booked. The manager of AT.MADRID was not happy.
AT.MADRID's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 84 minutes into the match as
N. Ravid ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2.
AT.MADRID claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
Most important AT.MADRID player was
H. Hadatsch.
Y. Atsalenios turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Maliaño player was without a doubt
V. Løkken.
However,
N. Melenas made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 2.
