Spainverpool 2 - 0 Trufis (367423409)

Clear skies welcomed the 17114 spectators who had made their way to Abadia de Gudino. Lorenz Friedrich was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dejan Toplišek and Tiziano Rovetta. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Spainverpool. Lineup: Izzo - 光康 (Guangkang) , Matov, Aladal - Botterweg, van der Valk, Puul, Kopsokefalos - Bøgelund, Lehtomäki, De Toma.

Trufis started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Campitelli - Szubert, Keçi, Solano, Simpson - Raja-aho, Haase, Limar, Rengifo, Bonten - Yarritu.

Spainverpool seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. It was obvious that team Spainverpool had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. After 22 minutes, the visitors nearly went up a goal, but A. Szubert's free kick hit the crossbar. M. Solano neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to H. Haase who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Spainverpool's A. Kopsokefalos somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for J. Bøgelund, who struck for 1 - 0. An equalising goal seemed certain after 34 minutes when A. Yarritu attacked down the left wing, but B. Izzo just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Trufis claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Spainverpool put in a good effort on the right, but S. van der Valk saw his volley fly wide of the mark 56 minutes into the game. Spainverpool had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. L. De Toma squirmed through their central defence after 62 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Trufis needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 63 minutes C. Simpson made way for T. Thorsen. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Trufis manager used a brief break in play after 64 minutes to give the players new directives. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Trufis's H. Raja-aho was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 70 minutes. I. Sagastizabal was given a chance to change things around. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Trufis, with 53 percent of the ball.

L. De Toma performed admirably for Spainverpool. B. Izzo on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Trufis player was G. Rengifo. On the other hand, V. Campitelli's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
