Real 1 - 4 Maracena
(367451922)

26-05-2012 15.00
Dark skies made the crowd of 29800 at
Anoeta a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Juan Carlos Vega Guzmán was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Leif Ingemarsson and
Povl Mann.
Real tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Taubeck - Magunagoikoetxea, Girona, Soto López - García-Velasco, Deza, Guetadar, Cenoz, Pinos-Puente - Manrique, Vargas Rivera.
Maracena started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Vlček - Fiedler, Tachau, Wensveen - Stensson, Gándara, Alcover, Gondar, Santiago - Albano, Dujardin.
C. Fiedler's lack of experience almost gave Real a goal after 27 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Maracena's
T. Tachau after 32 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
The referee showed Real's
A. Girona the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
J. Alcover received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 42 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Maracena fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
Confident in their lead, Maracena's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Real, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
G. Wensveen was, after 50 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
J. Taubeck made the save.
After 51 minutes Real tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
M. Guetadar's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
After 62 minutes,
J. Pinos-Puente had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Real with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
The visitors'
J. Alcover took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 69 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Maracena.
Maracena played a good counterattacking move down the left 75 minutes into the match, with
G. Albano finishing well for 0 - 4.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
P. Gándara from Maracena a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 77 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
J. Manrique tried using a burst of speed to get past his defender after 78 minutes, but it takes more than that to get past fast
T. Tachau.
Real's
J. García-Velasco got himself booked for a foul.
The home team's supporters got excited again when
J. Manrique broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 4.
Real had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
The most dominating Real player was without a doubt
R. Vargas Rivera.
However,
J. García-Velasco made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Maracena player was
V. Dujardin.
A. Stensson on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 4.
