Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and kiko's veneno Arena saw a crowd turnout of 20515. Sylvester Mosteller was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tony Fadiga and Art O'Malley. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for veneno. Lineup: Pitko - Batista, San Juan, Ritmeester - Štach, Kotowicz, Snitkovsky, Juarros, Ungi - Lascarache, Silvestre.

Gunnaraude had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players took the field: Refsgaard - Lysdal, Bagudanc - Gamarra, 石原 (Ishihara), Chauvineau, Vike, Wadra - Lewwald, Nesset, Ducornet.

After some beautiful movement down the left wing, C. Lascarache scored for veneno putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 8 minutes. Cheers filled the stadium as R. Kotowicz broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to veneno. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of veneno to 3 - 0 as D. San Juan finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. M. Juarros had a fantastic opportunity to put veneno up another goal 22 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. It was 3 - 0 at the break. veneno enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

The score became 4 - 0 at 66 minutes into the game, when veneno were given a penalty which G. Snitkovsky blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! By now, the players in veneno felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. With 70 minutes played, J. Silvestre of veneno fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 71 minutes Gunnaraude's L. Vike contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in veneno's D. San Juan increasing the lead to 5 - 0. veneno solidified their lead at the 77 minute mark, as K. Ungi dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, V. Lysdal got himself booked. The manager of Gunnaraude was not happy. 81 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as M. Juarros broke through, making the score 7 - 0 for veneno. veneno claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.

M. Juarros performed admirably for veneno. A. Ritmeester turned in a dismal performance, however. Gunnaraude's best player was M. Lewwald. On the other hand, A. Wadra's play was disheartening. The match ends 7 - 0.
