BACAES were relying on their ability to counter-attack. With 5 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of C.D.PUEBLA resulted in a counterattack that set T. Ichya free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. BACAES had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 20 minutes, but À. Molins's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. BACAES were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 31 minutes, D. Guitio swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 1 - 0. Halftime score was 1 - 0. C.D.PUEBLA had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

With 50 minutes gone, A. Januário suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by BACAES caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. The referee showed C.D.PUEBLA's P. Santamaría the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. K. Letelier's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for BACAES, he bravely continued in the match. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 68 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when S. Telles tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. After 75 minutes of play, BACAES's À. Molins unexpectedly struck an inside out ball from no angle at all and J. Korschewitz slotted it into the net for 2 - 0. D. Guitio's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. BACAES solidified their lead at the 77 minute mark, as A. Januário dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. Content with how the game was proceeding, the BACAES coach let K. Schmatz replace J. Korschewitz after 80 minutes. After 80 minutes, B. Constenla replied with a fantastic free kick and the ball went in off the bar. 3 - 1. BACAES enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

D. Guitio performed admirably for BACAES. J. Trávníček turned in a dismal performance, however. C.D.PUEBLA's top performer was clearly M. Llinàs. Ó. Adalid was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
