A scorching day at
SanRo Stadium, where 6838 spectators were in place for today's match.
Louison Roméro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Manfred Sulzbacher and
Bertrand Berlot.
SanRo tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Valles - Tze Ying, Omar, Aribaltzaga, Infantas - Thoresen, Ubilla, Solano, Mazkiariain - Niiniskorpi, Castellà.
LOS_BETICUÑOS decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Bermeosolo - Haslett, Gómez Dávila, Dager, Morillo - Ulloa, Rivas Palas, Acevedo, Asensio - Zayd, Garau.
SanRo seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
It was obvious that team SanRo had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
They were singing the praises of
B. Mazkiariain 19 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to SanRo.
SanRo managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when
C. Tze Ying cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
In a rapid move 43 minutes into the match,
H. Garau of LOS_BETICUÑOS lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
S. Zayd who easily hit it home to make it 2 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
Things were deteriorating for the away team as SanRo scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
C. Tze Ying after 43 minutes.
SanRo players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
SanRo solidified their lead at the 44 minute mark, as
R. Castellà dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1.
44 minutes in, LOS_BETICUÑOS appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
passable.
SanRo put themselves up 5 - 1 when
M. Solano broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
44 minutes into the game, LOS_BETICUÑOS had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
5 - 1 was the halftime score.
SanRo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 80 percent of possession.
A review of the gameplan helped LOS_BETICUÑOS get back to a
solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
SanRo were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
M. Solano had a fantastic opportunity to put SanRo up another goal 61 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
R. Castellà increased the lead for SanRo to 6 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
At this point, it was obvious that the players of SanRo lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
83 minutes into the game, LOS_BETICUÑOS seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of SanRo to 7 - 1 as
M. Solano finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in SanRo's
T. Niiniskorpi increasing the lead to 8 - 1.
After 88 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
R. Castellà gave the SanRo supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 9 - 1.
That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
R. Castellà.
SanRo had most of the ball, with 84 percent of possession.
SanRo's best player was
G. Ubilla.
However,
S. Valles made a disastrous appearance.
Most important LOS_BETICUÑOS player was
E. Rivas Palas.
B. Bermeosolo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 9 - 1.
