Juniors 1 - 0 OVETUS
(367715410)

25-02-2012 14.10
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 3346 to
Vozca Juniors Arena.
Arvaidas Jasavičius was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Iwan van Ardenne and
Jarosław Błażejewicz.
Juniors decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Llodrà - Volante, Ibero, Vellisca, Valda del Amo - Lapuente Martínez, Varas Durán, Gudiña, Relat - Ginard, Anguita.
OVETUS had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Barrionuevo - Gallard, Mercé, Cañizares, Gametxo - Amill, Llobera, Torres-Ayala, Folch Cardona - Palomino, Torres Alonso.
Juniors decided to play creatively.
Juniors had a chance to take the lead after
C. Gudiña's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 4 minutes.
Juniors broke through on the left 5 minutes into the game, with
M. Ginard firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
S. Torres-Ayala from OVETUS a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 25 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Juniors's
R. Lapuente Martínez swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
Juniors had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
OVETUS's
V. Palomino got himself booked for a foul.
After 79 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
M. Ginard might have resulted in another goal for Juniors. However,
I. Barrionuevo made a spectacular save.
C. Gudiña unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
After 87 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to OVETUS's
J. Amill being carried off the pitch and replaced by
R. Senosiaín.
Juniors had a magnificent opportunity after 88 minutes as
M. Ginard hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide.
Juniors enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
Juniors's top performer was clearly
J. Varas Durán.
R. Lapuente Martínez was a disappointment, however.
OVETUS's best player was
S. Torres-Ayala.
D. Mercé turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 0.
