previous 9/10 next 1/10  Granaina 2 - 2 Instinto (367724528)

3676 spectators had found their way to Granaina C.F Arena, despite the heavy rain. Eugène Le Roux was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Angelo Cadenbach and Luca Vaccari. Granaina tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Recio - Zaldierna, Cortés, Lecegui, Guntín - de Caldas, Menchero, Cuadro Gutiérrez, Vibero - Carlán, Botija.

Instinto started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: Tamés - Esbert, Santos, Ruiz-Berriz, Carter - Galeote, Baguena, Davi, Romero Pérez - Marei, Chicote.

2 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Granaina was A. Menchero. After 5 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 1 - 1 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by J. Baguena. P. Guntín was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! With 12 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Instinto resulted in a counterattack that set J. Baguena free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. 19 minutes into the game, A. Carlán had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came P. Colino. E. Carter received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 23 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. After 24 minutes, Instinto's G. Chicote made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Instinto, with 54 percent of the ball.

J. Baguena left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 69 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. F. Jado was the replacement. Granaina's P. Colino almost tied things up with 71 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 72 minutes played, A. Zaldierna of Granaina made the score 2 - 2. 74 minutes into the game, Instinto wanted to bring some new energy to their game. A. Esbert gave A. Patiño a quick hug as he left the field. G. Chicote would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. A. Maciá entered the game for Instinto as the match clock showed 78 minutes. Granaina had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

The most dominating Granaina player was without a doubt I. Botija. P. Lecegui turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Instinto player was X. Marei. However, I. Tamés made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 2.
