Clouds darkened the skies at
L'Hort as 8082 spectators turned up for the match.
Jürgen Etzdorf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Olaf Jan Neumayer and
Friedrich Fischer.
Saira decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Peiró - Sort, Castellrós, San Sadurniño, Barcons - Dovalo, Grajal, Ruiz Guillén, Vinyals - Carballido, Sastre Martin.
Chelwell started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Lineup: González-Mohíno - Farré, Yanez, Guijo, San Millán Díez - Vargas Rivera, da Grela, Civit, Peyronill - Mouré, Mejías.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
P. Carballido, but the Saira player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
Saira's
J. Vinyals increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 32 minutes.
P. Ruiz Guillén's lack of experience almost gave Chelwell a goal after 33 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
J. Grajal dispatched a majestic long shot 38 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to Saira, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.
P. Carballido unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
X. San Sadurniño increased the lead for Saira to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Saira put themselves up 4 - 0 when
B. Sort broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
After this, you could see that the players of Saira were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
R. Sastre Martin of Saira received a yellow card after 84 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The corner kick from
J. Farré was powerfully met by the head of
I. Mouré to make the score 4 - 1.
Saira's
B. Sort struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 5 - 1 after 86 minutes.
Saira claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
R. Sastre Martin performed admirably for Saira.
On the other hand,
A. Peiró's play was disheartening.
Most important Chelwell player was
J. Farré.
J. San Millán Díez was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
