Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for FkBP. FCP were relying on their ability to counter-attack. FCP's L. van Turenhout managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 15 minutes. 0 - 1. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 18 minutes played, J. Crabbe of FkBP made the score 1 - 1. The crowd groaned its disapproval when S. Denaer missed a free kick that would have given FkBP the lead after 34 minutes. FCP almost scored after a counterattack 35 minutes into the match, but C. Bovio took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. FkBP claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

At 52 minutes played, A. Büchner-Wolfgramm came in from the right with the intention of giving FkBP the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. Slack defending gave FkBP a chance to take the lead with 76 minutes played, but L. Giaccone's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs M. Ounis found it hard to get back into position. 80 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for FkBP to take the lead after a good cross from the right found S. Denaer alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. I. Gerster was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a FCP counterattack from the left after 81 minutes. His neat finish made the score 1 - 2. M. Ñaupari was called on to replace FCP's A. Voulgaridis after 82 minutes following a nasty collision. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for FkBP, but J. Crabbe's shot went over the bar. 85 minutes into the game, S. Denaer came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. I. Gerster knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 3 after 86 minutes. The referee showed FkBP's E. Boudens the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. FkBP had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

FkBP's top performer was clearly S. Denaer. On the other hand, C. Zengerink's play was disheartening. The most dominating FCP player was without a doubt T. Rogersson. M. Ounis was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
